Truffle Hunt Anyone?

Truffles are foraged for under the direction of some very clever dogs that look just like this gorgeous fellow.  I've recently learnt the wonderment of our fungi friend - the truffle (French Perigord Black to be precise).  Magic things happen when you add the tiniest amount of truffle to some foods and who would have guessed that we have a brilliant truffierre not too far out of Ballarat that not only shows you how to find and harvest the truffle but also how to include in your cooking.

Come with me on a trip of discovery - and since we're going up that way, I've put together 2 events so you can enjoy a mini break in the terrific Goldfields region of Victoria.  Truffle season has a "petite" window from May to August - I'm not going to guild the lily here .... it gets very cold up this way but with the cold comes beautiful vistas in front of warm open fire places...enough said???
